I was contracted by Myrna’s mom to take pictures of her daughter for her cotillion.
I was able to take pictures of her before the day of the event. She was all dressed up with the dress, hair and makeup done. We can do the same for your daughter!
The day of the cotillion, the day was great. The sun was out and there were no visible rain clouds, which was great. We arrived at the church where the ceremony was going to take place.
This church, Myrna’s family had been going to so they were familiar with the priest. As a photographer, I had to ask if there was flash allowed and there wasn’t. We have to be prepared for these types of situations.
Once Myrna arrived, the priest wanted to start right away. That was fine by me. Everything in the ceremony went great! The questions that the priest asked Myrna, I thought they were important. He asked her what she would like to thank her parents. I think sometimes we might not say this enough. If you think about all the times your parents have been there and have helped you out, just being thankful for them, made me think of my parents.
Her answers were great! Especially when she said her dad made jokes and they made her laugh. I thought was good.
After the ceremony we took pictures at the church with family.
Once we finished we went into the garden the church has and it was perfect for a few pictures with Myrna and her friends.
We headed out to Riverside, which was the town they wanted to take pictures out. We had scoped out the area a few weeks back. That day, there wasn’t much people out, which was great cause we could take pictures. We went to the train station. Luckily, a train had passed by on time and we took a few pictures, carefully.
We then headed out the bridge, and took a few pictures because we were late to the reception.
We headed to the reception which was in McCook. I thought it was nice and big. You can fit about 200 people. There was a staircase where we took a couple of pictures.
Once the reception started, everything went great. The DJ was good, the food was good, and people were having a great time.
